Sandi Krauss has been a member of the Easthampton Fire Department since 2007 and promoted to rank of captain in 2019. She started working in the EMS field in 2000 and obtained her Paramedic certification in 2006 at Greenfield Community College. She completed her bachelors in fire science from Anna Maria College in 2010 and is currently enrolled at Columbia Southern University’s master’s program for Public Administration/Emergency Management. Since 2015 she has been an instructor at the Massachusetts Fire Academy training new recruits. Ms. Krauss has been a member of the Western Massachusetts Technical Rescue Team that serves all of Western Mass since 2012. Certifications include: FF I/II, Instructor I, Fire Officer I & II, HAZMAT Operation, Rope Rescue Technician I & II, Confined Space Technician, CPR, Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and ICS 100, 200, 300 700 and 800. Captain Krauss has additional training in surface swift water and trench rescue operations along with wildland fire training.
