4-25-2022 Easthampton Health Department Launches Naloxbox Program (PDF)
In partnership with the Healthy Youth Coalition and Hampshire HOPE, the Easthampton Health
Department is launching a NaloxBox program in the city on May 2, 2022. A NaloxBox is a
small, clear box labeled "Opioid Rescue Kit" that is mounted on the wall and contains three
doses of Naloxone (commonly known as Narcan), a medication designed to reverse an opioid
overdose. Each box is equipped with a rescue-breathing mask, medical gloves, and step-by-step
instructions. If possible, NaloxBoxes should be mounted next to an Automated Electronic
Defibrillator (AED).

4-21-2022 Undoing Racism Debriefing Press Release (PDF)
Easthampton, MA - As a part of the Mayor’s Pledge to Reimagine Policing and address
underlying barriers to a more inclusive economic development ecosystem, Mayor LaChapelle
mandated department heads participate in anti-racism and bias workshops. The 18-hour People’s
Institute for Survival and Beyond (PISAB) workshops offered in August and October of 2021
were the first steps for leaders across departments doing focused work on equity and bias in local
government. Find below a listing of city leadership, electeds, and appointees who participated in
one of the workshops.

4-11-2022 EASTHAMPTON SENIOR TAX WORK-OFF PROGRAM SEEKS APPLICANTS
The city of Easthampton begins accepting applications for twenty (20) positions under Year 2 of
the 3-year pilot Senior Tax Work-Off pilot program. Starting now, Easthampton homeowners
who are 60 years of age or older, and who meet income eligibility guidelines, are encouraged to
apply for positions in city departments. Successful applicants receive a $1500 credit on their
property taxes.
