When the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing shutdown hit, small business owners suffered setbacks they had never before experienced. Small businesses in Massachusetts have suffered with just one in three reporting they are fully open. Nearly half of small businesses say they have laid off or furloughed employees. Businesses owned by women and people of color have been hit particularly hard and report more significant financial losses.
The City of Easthampton is asking all small businesses to participate in a survey on a general check-in of current and foreseeable future needs. With these responses, the City will assess current ARPA funds to see if their is a possibility to fund and operate a Small Business Grant to qualifying businesses in Easthampton.
Please respond to this survey no later than February 19, 2023.
